Report October 29th, Christchurch. Vall-Meet, Groynes Park. Vallhunds 10: Onyx, Vinny, Vala, Sasha, Cookie, Nova, Rosie, Milo, Apollo and Clara Honarary Vallhunds 2: Inka (Rottweiller) and Pepper (pembroke corgi) The dogpark was heaving busy when we arrived and gathered in the onleash area before walking down the main track. The dogs took off like a group of fluffy bottomed bunnies when they were let offlead! Everyone tried but failed to capture photos of them bouncing through the grass together. We walked slowly down through the park towards and area with picnic tables and dog water pumps. Late arrivals kept turning up with their grey dogs (and Cookie who is red). The dogs all had a blast together and it gave the young ones a chance to hoon around, plenty of balls to chase and a mud hole to run through! This gave the owners a chance to relax and talk dogs and get to know each other in our little Christchurch vallhund community. It was wonderful to see so many new faces and to see so many valls in excellent lean glossy condition. Huge thanks to Samantha from K9 who provided voucher cards and dog treats (tasty enough for Clara to try to guard them from all the other dogs!), and also from Animates who gifted a lucky dip bag of dog toys and treats! Everyone left happy clutching a gift and a coupon for 1kg of free super premium dog food. Anna Thompson South Island Co-ordinator. Swedish Vallhund Club (inc) |
