Report ~ Pet Expo - Wellington 6th Nov - 2011
The Swedish Vallhund Club (inc) were invited by the Samoyed Club and the Spitz Breeds Club to share a stall at the Wellington Pet Expo, November 6th 2011. Club members Ann McLean and Julia Walsh volunteered to [wo]man the stall. Armed with brochures, magazines and laminated calendar photo to display the Club were well represented. Sam from K9 Naturals also called past to say hello and chat about their products and her lovely Swedish Vallhund, Onny. Ann reports that the members of the public were impressed with the dogs (Torvall Hatu Patu and Vallarity's Bewitched) and that the dogs coped well with so much attention. Maximum use was made of the small space available and there were many positives that came out of the day, not least of which forging new friendships and discovering a number of Swedish Vallhund owners in Wellington unaware that the breed club existed. Mr Owen Dance, president of the New Zealand Kennel Club also stopped by to talk, pleased to see the Club and Swedish Vallhunds on display. Comment was made on how nice it was to see companion pet owners show casing the breed. The Swedish Vallhund Club enjoys support from members all over New Zealand.
