In 2011, Club Patron, Mr Ian Gray donated a plaque in memory of his beloved wife, the late Mrs Lesley Gray.
The plaque is hand made by Mr Gray himself from timber he felled in the 1970's; timber which was used also to make a wooden yacht that he and Lesley sailed around the pacific upon. Ian and Lesley had settled upon the Swedish Vallhunds as the ideal breed partially because of their compact size being compatible with dogs that could go sailing.
Lesley's sister carefully crafted the Swedish Vallhund image attached to the front of the plaque, the dog depicted is Working Trials Champion Valdemar Aster; or
Awarded for excellent performance
by a Swedish Vallhund in any field of endevour

and especially in service to people.

In 2012, Club President Mr Murray Smith presented to Mr Philip Luckens the Lesley Gray Plaque to be held in trust for one year. The comm ittee of the Swedish Vallhund Club Inc were delighted to present this prestigious award in honour of Murivall Bjork, known as 'Rosie', who belonged the late Mrs Dianne Luckens. Rosie worked as a Hearing Dog For the Deaf. She is enjoying her retirement, Although Philip says that both he and Rosie miss Dianne very much.
